From next to the Brooklyn Bridge, one sees the rise of the Manhattan skyline from 1864 until 2001. This illustrates how much life has changed through a time lapse and captures the essence of economic growth. Whenever I discuss economic growth I use this scene in conjunction with historical data to get the point across that growth is only tangibly measured over many years.
