In this scene, a car buyer negotiates with a car salesman.  They are bargaining to split the gains from trade--the seller's reservation price and the buyer's willingness to pay--and neither wants to make the opening offer because it might hurt his negotiating position. This scene can be used when discussing consumer and producer surplus or when covering game theory.
